Missions and Outreach

The Church of the Nazarene worldwide believes in the value of missions.  We here at Bend Nazarene agree.  We want to reach the world with the Message of Jesus Christ.  Here are a few ways that you can get involved:

  • Faith Promise
    To support the World Evangelism Fund and local missions at Bend Church of the Nazarene, we support Faith Promise giving.
  • Work & Witness
    Our church sends short-term teams to work on projects in the United States as well as around the world. A team went to Belize in March of 2009 where they worked on an elementary school.
    We have just begun planning our next W&W trip to Ecuador sometime in the Spring of 2011. Please pray.
  • Youth Missions Team
    Our Youth worked in conjunction with Crossroads of the Rockies Ministries in Denver, Colorado this summer.  They had the privilege of serving with them in a few different areas including their food bank, clothing distribution, and children’s summer programs.
  • Sun Valley Indian School
    The Sun Valley Indian School is located in Holbrook, Arizona. It is a boarding school for Native Americans and has been educating children for 45 years. We help here at our church by saving Campbell Soup Labels for them. They have used labels saved from all over North America to buy 17 passenger vans, computers and athletic equipment. If you are interested in helping, save the UPC code and Labels for Education Logo from approved products.   • Alabaster Fund-Raising

These "love gifts" are transformed into buildings and property sites around the world. Alabaster boxes are available at the missions bookcase for you to use. Alabaster offerings are received in September and February.

  • Missionary Speakers

Al and Diane Wright came to share about a future W&W trip to Ecuador.

  • LINKS

    • Loving Interested Nazarenes Knowing and Sharing.  We pray for and send gifts to an assigned missionary or missionary family each years.

    Our LINKS missionaries are Carlos & Noemi Fernandez from Argentina and Selishche Women's Center in the Ukraine.

  • Kids Mission Club

    • Meets once a month during children's church. This years theme is Mexico, South America and Central America missions.

    • Vacation Bible School
    Vacation Bible School, High Seas Expedition, was held at Bend Naz in August beginning Sunday evening, August 15th at 5 pm and Monday, August 16th through Wednesday, August 18th at 9 am. Our offering project was for the FijiBoat Project with Harmon and Cindi Schmelzenbach. Over $100 was raised for the project!!!

    The Fiji/Boat Project/Nazarene Maritime Ministries, recently launched a coastal boat for use in the outer island of Fiji. They are still raising funds for the complete safety package required for the local pastor and church leaders to operate the boat safely in and around those islands. There are no roads around these villages and the only form of transportation is by boat. This boat is used as a "Sunday School Bus" for children and adults up and down the coast as they gather for worship. The safety equipment includes items such as life-jackets, anchors, flares, and communication equipment. A total of approximatley $350.00 is needed for some of those things, but any amount towards that will be a GREAT help!!
    • Pakistan Flooding
    "Dear Friends and Coworkers,
    "The situation is horrible. The freeway to Peshawar is blocked. We try our best to get through, but up till now we haven't been successful. But our people are asking for help. Thousands of Nazarenes have lost everything they have had. Several Child Development Centers have been destroyed and they need food, tents and clean water, not to speak of all that needs to be done for rehabilitation."
